چکیده

A dramatic shift in chemical engineering undergraduate education has been proposed based on NSF-funded, discipline-wide workshops that took place in 2003. This has led to a broad consensus regarding foundations for chemical engineering undergraduate education in the future based on the organizing principles of (1) molecular transformations; (2) multiscale analysis, and (3) the systems approach. The third area is the focus of this paper, as it relates to systems and control and the increasing importance of biological systems in chemical engineering as well as the development of new educational materials.

Integrating information of the efficient and anti-efficient frontiers in DEA analysis to assess location of solar plants: A case study in Iran

The solar photovoltaic (PV) energy is one of the most promising sources of energy, which has attracted many interests. Itis potentially the largest source of energy in the world and is capable to mitigategreenhouse gas (GHG) emissions significantly in comparison with fossil fuels.Location optimization of solar plants can play a vital role to rise the efficiency and performance of the solar PV s...

A Theoretical Mass Transfer Approach for Prediction of Droplets Growth Inside Supersonic Laval Nozzle

Proper estimation of droplet growth rate plays a crucial role on appropriate prediction of supersonic separators performance for separation of fine droplets from a gas stream. Up to now, all available researches employ empirical or semi-empirical correlations to define the relationship between droplet growth rate (dr/dt) and other operating variables such as temperatures (T and TL), Pressure (P...

Mixed Qualitative/Quantitative Dynamic Simulation of Processing Systems

In this article the methodology proposed by Li and Wang for mixed qualitative and quantitative modeling and simulation of temporal behavior of processing unit is reexamined and extended to more complex case. The main issue of their approach considers the multivariate statistics of principal component analysis (PCA), along with clustered fuzzy digraphs and reasoning. The PCA and fuz...

Optimal Control of Nonlinear Multivariable Systems

This paper concerns a study on the optimal control for nonlinear systems. An appropriate alternative in order to alleviate the nonlinearity of a system is the exact linearization approach. In this fashion, the nonlinear system has been linearized using input-output feedback linearization (IOFL). Then, by utilizing the well developed optimal control theory of linear systems, the compensated ...

Fuzzy Efficiency Measures in DEA: A New Approach based on Fuzzy DEA Approach with Double Frontiers

Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a method to measure relative efficiency of a set of decision-making units (DMUs) which uses multiple inputs and produces multiple outputs. In the conventional DEA, crisp inputs and outputs are fundamentally necessary. But the observed values of inputs and outputs in real-world problems are sometimes imprecise. Thus, performance measurement often needs to be do...
